After completing his tuition at The Juilliard School, a young classically trained cello player named Arthur Derek Sureno set out to find his place in the world of music. This West Coast musician always felt he had missed his real calling and has been on a journey of discovery ever since. A chance meeting in a broken lift with DJ Scratchy Hip Dogg changed his life forever and so began his unquenchable passion for House music. What happened in that lift has become the stuff of folklore and myth. Somewhere between floors 5 and 6 their mojos were magically exchanged and Sureno became a resident House DJ at The Greasy Spoon and Hip Dogg joined the London Symphony Orchestra.

Sureno saved up all his DJing money, supplementing it with odd jobs such as a life model, traffic warden and bingo caller. Eventually he had saved up enough money to buy his first pair of turntables, Gemini PT-2000's. He would be up all night, sometimes not sleeping or eating for days, while honing his DJing skills and he eventually started working at a local radio station, House FM. Tragically, after completing a gig on Anglesey, he contracted the rare Ebola virus. This affected his ability to mix for number of years and he recuperated on a farm in Cumbria. With only a long wave radio by his side he was able to continue to listen to his favourite House music and was heavily influenced by the likes of DJ Jacket, Dr. Spin and Tommy 'Tom' Turntable. Sureno left Cumbria with head full of rhythms and beats and a heart full of desire to fulfil his destiny. He acquired a set of Technics 1210's at a car boot sale and so began his journey back to the top.

Word spread fast among House enthusiasts about the return of the young pretender and he quickly re-established himself on the DJing circuit. Frustrated by the lack of recognition from record companies, he bought a Tascam Porta and started producing his own tapes. These early recordings, now known as the 'Bognor Regis Sessions,' became a huge underground hit and it wasn't long before he bought his first PC and DAW. 2 years later and collaborations with DJ Remix, The Geography Twins, Missy GooGoo and a brief appearance on Pete Tong TV, he has now firmly cemented his place in DJ history and he continues to leave his mark on all of the House loving world and is here to stay!!!

His plans for the future are to continue releasing good music and provide the listener with his own unique mix that's now become the sound of the House brand in the community. DJ Sureno is forever crossing the boundaries and taking House music to new levels and is the freshest, most talented and creative force on the planet. Be sure to check out The Ultimate Sureno, a personal collection spanning his early work to the present day.
