Chord prog
this is a chord progression that i want to learn to play, iv listened to it and think the root/bass note is A,G,F,E,A,B,C,D but the chords im not quite hearing are they triad's, 3rds or 5th's? i think if triads i get Am,G?,F,Em,AM,Bm,C,D could be completely wrong though ![]() Thanks people? ______________________________

You are correct in that the bass descends A G F E but it then repeats exactly the same the second time.
the chords are Am spelled A C E Asus4 spelled A D E Am spelled A C E (this chord is actually Fmaj7 as the BASS is playing F at this point) Asus4 again spelled A D E (the BASS has reached E at this point actually making the chord an E7sus) 2nd time around is exactly the same but we are fooled as a top note is added to each chord. Judging by the hand-span it would take to reach im guessing this high note was probably overdubbed but we can make it work by spelling our chords differently. BASS descends as before but chords... Am new spelling of C E A Asus4 new spelling of D E B Am (really Fmaj7) new spelling of E A C Asus new spelling of E A D Hope that helps |

Haha no i've never heard it before but over the years have become quite good at working out chords. I had many years of banging the keys in frustration and then one day it all came good when I listened hard enough.
glad I could help. |
