Default what do you use to change accapella bpm ?

i use sound forge at the moment but iam not getting the right speed .

I use logics time and pitch machine, awesome device in my opinion! Why may I ask do you use soundforge, is this your main DAS, do you not use another DAS?

I would use the Audio Snap tools in Sonar or even Beatscape. I think John uses Reason but yeah any other host on your hard drive John...Live e.t.c? Even a Lite version might be useful for the job.

going slightly off topic, M can you shed some light on time stretching with sonar for shane over here

All of the above are bad options for one reason. The type of processing they use to do the time manipulation are wwaayyy out of date.

Typically, they tend to 'cut and shut' samples together, which when doing extreme stretches (say anything greater then 10%) introduces artifacts such as vibrato.

The more modern processes treat each sample as an individual value, and interpolate it's length rather then the technique mentioned above. The result is a much more natural sounding transformation, because the artifacts are reduced.

The standard at the moment is Izotope's Radius engine. If you want to shiftand preserve your audio, start looking for software that use this engine !

Actually Sonar did license the technology from them...

Or for the Logic world, they do a plugin for $400 !

Yep...I am still amazed Sonar has this algo built in (Audio Snap) at no extra cost to users. Fantastic VFM.
