Ok so this track isnt finished yet, so may kinda be good in a way to see an unfinished track. Just slammed it through the L3 just to give taste of what it will sound like when its finished, screwed the release on the main comp tho so sorry if it sounds a bit pumpy atm.

sorry if the images aren't huge but like sureno i use a dual screen and forgot to cut them into 2. Not the best images in the world when shrunk down but you get the jist. The mixer is just trying to show the way i lay things out such as audio, VST, Groups, FX etc, cant see all of it as it doesnt fit on 2 screens properly but again you get the general idea

Nice track above Jay

I'll contribute MP3 and images from a remix done last year (which, in a slightly different version, saw a public release a few months back). I think most of you will recognise the original

Here's the MP3 as reference (which matches the arrangement & mixer screenshots below)

you can tell when a pro posts , you have arramged the elements in a way to give them all justice if thats makes sense, also i see you work in audio? why is this particularly with drums and not midi? also i will get gunned for this but such a small tweak in the eq, what is that for? to fit a mix or colour, didn't think such a small tweak would make a great difference?

I'm a serial 'audio commiter' Sureno..
In most cases, my drums are programmed in Battery or EXS24, processed and then bounced to audio for further (optional) processing/manipulation. Having control over a 'full kit' (albeit electronic) gives me so much freedom to have fun and be creative. You'll notice I leave certain percussion 'lift' elements (shakers, cabasas etc) separate to blend in later in the arrangement.

As for the small EQ tweak, yes, you're right.. barely noticeable but in the case of this particular track, I felt it needed a little tickle to sweeten up what I felt was a very decent mix already. Incidentally, the Logic adaptive limiter plug-in was removed from the mix-buss when the track went to the record label prior to going to a mastering suite..

i see a lot of pro producers doing tiny tweaks like olav for instance i thought my ears must be useless as i could never really hear the difference to make a difference hey if you ever want a tea boy when your doing your next project sureno's your man, would love to see how pro's work but great track i see you used some loops, where they constructed by yourself or pre made, out of the session tracks to this remis i see you had the bleeps and vocals, anything else?

Great tip. I'm exactly the same way - and it has the added benefit in most cases of freeing up CPU as well. In PTLE once my programming is done I'll bus the output to an audio track, record, then make the track inactive so I can still reactivate it at any time if I need to make changes somewhere down the road. But I prefer to not do that if I can help it.

I also (gasp!) track with (outboard) EQ and compression too, even in the digital realm! If I like a sound, I'm happy laying it down as-is. My SSL Alpha Channels though, to be fair, have a lovely and genius feature in that they send the actual channel strip output via SPDIF-Left and a "safety" (no EQ/insert/or limiting and 6db lower) down the Right channel - I record each seperately of course - so I suppose I'm maybe not REALLY committing...

I'm working on a cheeky little remix at the moment, no access to the acapella or any parts at all, only have the original old track, for now I'll just say its a classic disco track, the track itself has tempo changes all the way through it, its taken me a whole day to get the drums how I want them and to sync parts from the original track to the new BPM of my remix, its now going in the correct direction I intended it to, so with a bit of luck i'll have an update really soon to post in here

By the way, Very Tidy layout Modz!!
not a Logic user, is it always that tidy?..lol
Cubase gets rather messy once you start showing automation tracks!! lol
