Timbaland is way overrated although he does have catchy tunes

Default Mark Ronson

If we're talking of who we'd label a not-so-desirable producer, I'd have to be controversial and say Mark Ronson.

I cannot stand his drivel, I really can't. It may sound great, produce hits and so forth, but dear God, he ruins some great tracks.

I almost find myself for a special edition of Reason - The Mark Ronson version, or East West Mark Ronson Producer Pack which basically flicks the swing up to about 60% on the MPC, and adds some God-awful horns to the proceedings in the second verse.

I think he's a good arranger; but he's no Craig Armstrong.

how could you forget Ginuwine (his best stuff) yes the pre 2000 stuff was awesome i thought, he was the guy who introduced that stutter in the drums and those bass line used in tracks where unreal!!! i don't like his new stuff much myself but he is talented, you can't take that away from him, Ginuwine never sounded the same since Timbaland left as main producer after 100% Ginuwine!

Simply check it out for your selves!!!

and the original Map setter....PONY

One thing I do remember is reading various interviews on the web stating he praised Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) for this, loves Trent's drum programming, loves his synth programming, almost launching a public invitation for a collaboration, I thought that could be interesting, being a fan of NIN, more to get some mainstream listening.

Trent has never spoken out to my knowledge though.

The way I see it Timbaland has put together some existing ideas to mold his own sound which he exploits. He probably has a pro tools template that he loads up for every artist, he may even give it to an assistant called 'The Timbaland' sound and hey presto another Timbaland number 1!!!

If you're talking as a hip hop/r&b fan I understand where you're coming from if you're not I think that Timberland has succeeded at changing and updating the music over all genres and I think those you liked basic pop now like hip hop and R&B.

I don't like what he's done the culture of hiphop/r&b he has changed because the artists and producers got greedy and decided to water down the music until all mainstream audiences liked it Timbrland is more into money and 5 year old kids liking his songs.
They want everyone to accept it not just those who were typical hip hop and R&B fans there's not problem with everyone liking it. I like how he influences indie and Jusin timberlake after that he's gone to far making songs that don't make sense with Will I am There's just know passion or reason behind some songs so I agree that he has become lazy but I don't think he's rubbish I've heard some good stuff I just think it's all about money I THINK SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHALLENGE HIM AND MAYBE HE'LL CHANGE
I STILL HAVE RESPECT FOR HIM

I don't mind Timbo. However, he's not the god anyonemakes him out to be. He does nick his ideas, and get a lot of people to do his work for him. His clearest bit of 'theft' was a Nelly Furtado track he produced.

He actually has a chip music reader in his studio as well

Even his earlier stuff is liften from obscure arabic tracks. Have a look for that vid on the right hand side in youtube !
