this is sounding like a "consult your manual first and tell us what you ahve tried" kind of issue. It's a bit difficult to guess what you ahve done, what you have plugged in to where with what etc.

i got rid of my 2500 but remember going into set up and setting MIDI for sending and receiving, so that any controller could trigger it. also what Trev said, go through each step and examine it, sound output, cables in right sound output, effects etc

What happens if you plug headphones into the MPC? - Sound OK?
For pluging in the keyboard - MIDI OUT 1 of keyboard to MIDI in of the MPC - (I dont know how many midi ins that MPC has, but try MIDI IN or MIDI IN 1 iof there is more than 1.

Do you know how to operate you MPC - if not - I suggest a read of the manual to setup MIDI routing. I have an MPC2500 - all fairly straight forward if you are familar with MIDI, audio routing etc.

Also check that the Axoim is actually sending MIDI dat to its MIDI OUT and not just USB - check its manual for config options.

As for the distorted audio to the fast track - does anything else record OK into it? If not, then suggest increasing its input buffer size (devices config from whatever DAW you are using) first of all and if that doesnt work, then you couold have a driver and/or computer setup issue.

Hi Young_Knowledge.. welcome to DV247 Forums..

You can download the maunuals you need from M-Audio's support page..
HERE

For the Axiom, select 'keyboard series' in the list..
and for the Fast Track Pro, select 'USB Audio Series'..

Ok things to check, in the MPC mixer are the outs set to ST, 12,or 34 make sure your sending out of the right outputs and that your connecting to the right outputs, Second the Main volume knob only controls ST out.

Easiest way to sort your midi problem is to select find the midi channel on the MPC, go to the part you are trying to trigger and change its midi channel, make sure you first select 1 or 2 depending on which midi input youve connected to, then below you should have a choice of 1-16 just scroll through until you find out which one the axiom is triggering. Make sure you have an up to date OS as some of the earlier ones are very glitchy in my experience. Finally turn on full level for the part you are triggering and this should push out a good volume in order to check the outs.

I'm assuming your using the Akai OS here so if your using the JJ OS this will not be relavant and i have no experience with JJ.

Has anyone got any experience of the JJ OS? From what I've read, it's much better, but I'm not overly sure about the 'upgrade' if the truth be known. I find the MCP 1K great as it is.

Seconded. I dont have it personally but a friend has it on his and i used it before i got my 1000, its good, i dont know it very well but it does just rinse all over the Akai OS, depends on your needs tho, i only use my mpc as a drum machine really so for me the akai OS does the job
