Default Can you make a Pro track in Reason ?

Can you make a Pro track in Reason ?

This question gets asked so many times on music forums.

The answer is "YES"

For non believers here's a video ive edited and uploaded onto youtube to show a well known club track that got made in reason.

I don't use Reason but I really like the 'Rack' GUI. Its not enough for me to buy it but it appeals to me and one day I may have to make a purchase (one glorious day when every penny doesn't necessarily count) and ReWire it into Cubase, especially as it has some really wicked refills. It does highlight the oft-repeated mantra of 'Its not the tools that make something, its the creativity they're used with' (or equivilant) though, some peoples imagination or skills amaze me.

I wouldn't mind seeing that. Unfortunately, the version of CM here in Spain this month features Rusko and not Riley & Durrant!

Why do they do that?

ive used reason in rewire and thor is brilliant but i couldnt ever get my head around using it as a standalone application.but ive started to use it more and more in the last few weeks via rewire and im beginning to start too love it the synths are some of the biggest sounding ive used i just wish theyd see sense and start selling thor as a standalone vst instrument if they did that theyd clean up theres not many synths ive used that have the drive and umph that thor brings to the mix.

is this video from the new cm magazine?my subscription ran out this month so i have to renew it or ill try get it when i see it.

I wasn't too impressed by the Kraak and Smaak video (it was FM) you never missed anything they never gave much away and the camera was always focused on them rather than their equipment and screen , really was one of the poorer ones.

Well, I finally got a copy of March Future Music (FM145 the Spanish version) and I am hugely disappointed to find that there is not a single video included on the DVD!!

Thats a shame as the only reason i buy future music nowaday is for the video's , as Computer music/music tech/soundonsound/future music are just like the tabloids in that its nearly the same stuff (reviews/articles) in them all.

I tend to find Sound on sound a deeper read so now i limit myself to Computer music & sound on sound every month i only buy FM if the featured artist on the DVD interests me.

The other main popular Props user is The Prodigy.

It is worth having. It's weakest point is a lack of processing tools. Fro ma sound creation perspective, it lacks nothing though. It only falls down when you need to do some trick mixing, or tools such as linear eq.

I use it sometimes. I might get back into it more. I've given it a wide berth after what happend when it met Logic via rewire !

it also has the best distortion plugin I've EVER heard.

they came to vist a while back and I asked them to make it available as a vst plugin, but they politely refused... still - a nice company who are commited to keeping Reason as it is, and a great way to start out if you're new to the dance or urban scene. Its pretty cpu friendly and very fast to get things going.

I've always had a soft spot for reason.

Yes 'Scream' is superb , however so is 'Ohm force Omicide'

I know it will never happen but ive always wished Props would make Reason into VST/AU plugin so the Reason rack would open up in your DAW like NI kontakt for example , this would get rid of that messy rewire and make the work flow so much easier yet still keeping reason self contained which is what propellerhead wants.
