I love the airy ambience of these tracks. The only thing I'd mention is that the listener is forced to wait a long time before hearing your vocal on most of the tracks... about half of them have you waiting over a minute with really only the first and last song seeming to "get down to it" in time to capture the listener's attention. Many a casual listener might easily skip through your whole album and leave it alone thereafter having never heard you utter a single word... which would be a shame as I think you have quite an enigmatic voice... a "Sigur Ros" kinda vocal vibe.

You've hit the proverbial nail on the head and I totally understand. The introductions I thought I'd keep in because I was messing around with my synths and vst's and came up with some neat things that come up later at the end of most of the songs they're on. But I do take your point and I was speaking to my cousin - who's a MUCH more focused/better musician than I am - about how I'm writing songs that end up being 6-10 minutes long.

It's one thing I aim to work on the next time I record. It's just hard when I'm writing songs because I always feel on paper that I don't have that much and therefore tend to overwrite on the lyrics side.

But thank you both for your positive comments! The reverb could be touched down I think but on most tracks I was going for a Sigur Ros/Radiohead kind of vibe. Also please remember I'm not that experienced in mixing/mastering and was using a totally new mixer! Next time will be better fingers crossed!

It's always a real wrench deciding what bits to leave out... sometimes it's actually easier to get someone else to take a dispassionate view and make an unbiased decision. Of course, this would normally be the job of the producer but when the artist is the producer is the engineer is the tea boy it becomes a little harder to be objective. It's something we all struggle with
