Default Bouncing is making me hyperspeed

OKay So I just got Pro Tools 8 w/MBox 3 and am new to this program. I dont know why, but when I bounce one song, Pro Tools literally doubles the tempo and the music is in hyper speed and the vocals sound like a chipmunk came over to sing along.

Any advice on why the bounced version of the song comes out this way? When playing in the Edit window it is just fine...

Thanks.

Sounds like your pro tools sample rate is wrong. Check in the preferences in pro tools to see if its at 44.100 KHz, if it isnt change it to that...

Im not sure if it would be this or not but if its playing at double the tempo then it sounds notoriously familiar to a sample rate problem, e.g. pro tools is bouncing the track at a different sample rate to what is the norm e.g 44.1...

Thank you for your tip on the sample rate setting; however I cannot locate it in the preferences section. Do you know where that setting might be located on Pro Tools LE 8? I am sorry to be annoying, but this is even more annoying!

Hey

It might be a good idea to read the documentation that installed with your pro tools. There is a PDF doc called Pro Tools Reference Guide that contains all the information you require particularly in the section Sessions & Tracks Ch 9 page 111 ‘Sessions’ and Ch 47 page 1009 ‘Working with Synchronisation’.

Hope this helps.

off the top of my head: options > playback engine > sample rate

Setup -> Session

Check the sxample rate there.

Then when you're looking at the bounce to disk dialogue box, check that the sample rate you're bouncing to matches the one in that session setup box
