what you are hearing is called latency. It's normal. There's is a knob on mbox so that you can monitor off the hardware rather than the software while recording. You must keep it returned to record or that's what you will hear.

which mbox is it, specifically?

the "you can't polish a turd..." is Trev's forum signature... it appears on every post by default, even ones that are talking about priceless Abbey Road consoles. he's not commenting on your gear at all, don't worry!

you too can set a signature in your User CP above. I also have one... it's below the line.

I havent even seen an mbox for years so have no idea what knob it is. As T3, er, whitepussy says, which model of mbox exactly so we can look it up.

Oh yeah, you can't polish a turd is my forum signature (here and everywhere else you might find me). It kind of means focus on quality in or you wont end up with quality out. It's nothing to do with your mbox or anything you've written.

mini-box is the unit. And it is the second knob from the far left. when i turn it to the far left ihear the playyback and the mic input.
Onlly the further to the left i turn the 2nd knob. The more the echo comes through the phones.

Turn it to the left only just far enough to hear both. Also reduce your buffer time etc in the software and suspend any un-needed plugins (track everything before you start to mix)
