Default Offline bouncing..

Ok, so i've read everywhere you can't do it. But that's not stopping me from asking

There's some ideas floating around at work with potential studio hours being booked, but it would involve bouncing material down at a much faster/offline rate.

Surely there's something that can do this?

Bugger.

Seems like such a flaw. Especially when editing sound for video..

Why is it then? Just because of the hardware involved?

Because it makes no sense. You wouldn't want to hear what your final mixdown sounds like?

Of course, but i just don't know why it has to tie it in with the bounce. I've always bounced when i've been happy with it and i know it's ready, so to then sit through it again just seems a bit of a flaw to me. I'm talking more post-production here, so 30min+ bounces. Maybe i'm just missing something..?

Either way, thanks for clearing it up.
