Default M-Powered Upgrade Or Not?

Hi All

I am still new to Pro Tools even though I bought Ver 8 as soon as it was available.
My interface is an original Delta 4/10 PCI card which only works with PT because it happens to use the same driver as the 1010.

Question now is,did I do the right thing getting M-Powered,and now I have the Software,is it ever going to be possible to upgrade to L.E or anything else?

M-Audio hardware will only run with M-Powered. LE requires Digidesign hardware, but on the upside, you get LE "free" when you a buy a Digidesign-branded interface should you ever feel the need to switch.

The only things LE offers that M-Powered does not are features that mainly have to do with post-production (and they're all paid add-ons) - support for the DV and Complete Production Toolkits (the latter of which includes surround mixing support) and Digitranslator compatibility for OMF/AAF import and export.

If you need any of those features then yes, you should probably look at LE, but otherwise there's no real advantage.

Thanks for the reply,Can't help thinking I was missing out on something by not getting at least the LE version, maybe not.

So my new interface will need to be an M-Audio,probably a Profire 6/10.

Also liked the look of the Real Tape Delay but price is prohibitive.

I really like using PT,and will probably get some toy's for it when I work out what is most useful.

Tutorial DVD's are probably my next purchase.

Go to http://www.masseyplugins.com and download them all... they're the best-sounding, most uncrippled demos anyone has ever released, and when you feel the need to purchase them they're cheap as chips anyway!

That's a different plug-in set... one he's doing for free... which is why it's linked on his personal website and not the masseyplugins.com site.

It should be available as an RTAS insert. The demo only works on mono tracks (with the full-version you can have multi-mono for use on stereo tracks). In the default plug-in tree structure it appears under Delay -> TD5.

AudioSuite processing requires the full version as well.
