problems with mbox2 mini and pro tools 7.4

so ive installed pro tools 7.4 and once i restarted my computer pro tools wouldnt load beyond the rewired option it kept saying hardware not plugged in then itd crash ..so i reinstalled the drivers for the mbox 2 still no joy..then i unistalled protools 7.4 then reinstalled still no joy the mbox 2 wont play back any audio and its not even inmy system options anymore on my first install the mbox2 was shown in my audio devices menu in windows but when i tried to use it all i got was crackles and pops now ive reinstalled everything its not even showing up there eventhough the usb powerlight is on..any ideas?

First off, make sure you've got the latest CS patch installed -

I'm not really a PC guy so further help may be just me guessing. Have a look at the official support forum at Digidesign too - http://duc.digidesign.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17 - you should find some useful stuff there and some helpful people as well.

... and of course my other thought is to just wait for your version 8 amnesty email, it should be with you in no time at all. You'll probably want to completely wipe PT7.x from your disk before installing PT8.

yes wipe it and wait for 8, cant believe how long iv been sitting on this and not realising it's full potential

well i found the little bugger causing all the trouble it was a file in the plug in folder called timewarp the moment i took that out the plug in folder pro tools loaded up and worked no problem..

also ive found out that the mbox 2 conflicts with my emu 0404 card offline out of pro tools..for some reason it wont allow me to play mp3s or watch movies threw the mbox it will only allow me to use the emu0404 for things like that..but still i got it working fine with pro tools and i got the midi working too .

how do i get the pro tools le8 free upgrade ?i cant find any info in the box or manual about it?i didnt get no registration cards to send of just the authorization cards ..

im gonna go to the protools 8 demos in manchester next month paul cant wait hope its as good as you said it is

i cant remember the name of the damn app but you will need it to play certain 3rd part apps through your mbox, doug something.......

cant remember what its called sorry, hopefully some one will know

When you register at digidesign.com (create a user account and enter the registration code for the Mini) you'll trigger an automated process. If you do it all correctly you'll get an email within a few days at most with a link to download version 8 and an authorisation code.

it should be a pretty quick process and in the mean time not to cast a shadow on this forum as that would be the last thing id want to do but get familiar with this forum

thanks mate ill get it ..i downloaded one thing from the digi website tht alowed me to play music threw it offline but it wouldnt let me use the mbox with protools i had to delete the drivers and reinstall the protools drivers bit stupid ..

yes by the sound of it you downloaded the stand alone drivers, this overwrites tools. no need to do it any way as tools comes with the drivers integrated, just use the MME helper it will let you use it how you wish
