Default midi question

ok my pro tools bundles coming tommorow but i was wondering if i can use the midi ports on my emu 0404 card and still use the mbox 2 just as my audio in/out box...does pro tools use the mbox 2 as the sound card as well?or can i use the emu card to run the plug ins.
im a little unsure ..
id like to know before i hook everything up so ill have less problems.i had lots of problems using my mackie onyx satellite and my emu 0404 card at the sametime i had bad latency and crackles and pops..

thanks

All audio must go in and out of the Mbox when using Pro Tools. In fact, PT won't even load unless the Mbox is connected.

You can use any MIDI device/interface on your system though, so using the Emu should be no problem at all.
