Good afternoon all,
Recently got hold of the Fostex FR2 and one of the first things i noticed was the poor battery life (going through 8 Duracell each recording gets bluddy expensive!). After scouring all over the net i've finally managed to find a possible lead.. Eco-Charge | EC-90 Series 12 and 7.5 Volt Remote Battery System Would this work? I know there's an external battery option for the FR2-LE, but i've not managed to find much on the FR2. Could anyone shed some light on any possible packs? Many thanks, Tif |

Hi Tif
Doesn't the Fostex FR2 have a standard small round power input on the left hand side? It requires 12V DC. So I would have thought something like this would do the job; Maplin > Fixed Voltage Regulated Mains Adaptors The Eco-charge unit you suggested does supply 12V DC but through an XLR connection. Look on the left side panel of the Fostex FR2 and you should see a small round DC connector with 12V above it. If you do decide to buy a standard power supply do make sure that it is a regulated power supply. |

Hi Saxman, thanks for the quick reply.
It does have a 12v connection for plugging in, however - i'm in need of something for when i'm out and about location recording. The battery life isn't great, i was hoping for an external battery pack to just plug in that'll recharge when i get back home. Should have specified that on the original post, sorry. Cheers, Tif |

Sorry Tif, I was confused.
Maybe the Li-ion 12v Rechargeable Battery here would do the job; Actioncameras.co.uk Battery Related Accessories |

Spot on mate, thanks alot!
I've been looking for so long that i'm now a bit skeptical about how easy it looks to buy. I've read on a few forums about FR2 owners that have had trouble with the fact there's no option for rechargable batteries. That being said though, it has a 12v input, the battery is a 12v.. i don't see why it shouldn't work, certainly only one way to find out. Thanks again, |
