Doh! should have read your post more carefully. I made it for 15u rack strips and they are 16u!!!

Get some nice chunky walnut bull-nose moulding strips made at your local wood yard and fix it on the front leading edge of what ever worktop you'll be applying to the top of the rack so that it covers at least the 1st 1/2U of space and that way the 15U strips won't look like they have an enormous gap at the bottom.
