Question Laptop / Desktop

Hi there!

I have to upgrade my studio system, because I work with an 1.86GHz Asus laptop and it's weak for music production. I decided that I'll buy a brand new desktop for production music, but I have a basic problem.
I own an E-MU 1616m PCMCIA soundcard. Can I connect this socket to a normal desktop computer somehow?

Thanks for your help!

Do a Google for "pcmcia desktop adaptor", there you will find what you need.

Thanks a lot!
Is any type of this adaptors good for this, or I should buy a special one?
Which are the important criteries?
I just wouldn't like to lose speed because og this kind of data-transfer...
Could you give me advice which type should I buy... which manufacturer, etc.?

Default Emu 1616m

I have the emu 1820m and the reason they didn't bring out an update of this superb soundcard was that they used lead in it.They decided it would be to expensive to develop a new
interface from the ground up,and decided to instead concentrate on the 1616m for laptop, and desktop because it passed the new EU (yes them again) metals directive.
Check the forum for emu. There's a lot of info on the 1616m.
