Patience is a virtue! Some of us have work to do you know!

My starting point would be here if you are set on new:

If you are willing to buy 2nd hand there's a pair of K&H 0300s on GS right now.

Adam P22A Active Nearfield / Midfield Monitor at DV247.COM

Adam P11A Active Nearfield Monitor at DV247.COM

So your into ADAM's, im very reluctant buying 2nd hand monitors scared i may overlook something and end up with bogus monitors though i do like thos 0300s, may i ask why you recomend the ADAM's over the dynaudio? that is if your not too busy working i would really appreciate it

I have both. The Dynaudio are very useable but the Adam's translate better. Every time. They don't let you away with a sloppy mix. Ever.

Ok, 1 more Q, for simply arranging, composition and long hours of use do you prefer the dynaudio's or ADAM's. I ask because im after something more pleasing on the ear for general composition, i decided against the ADAM's as they sound very flat and i have the RM2's for mixing but im now reconsidering them now you have mentioned them

Sorry, I don't compose using software. I plug a guitar in or sit at the piano. For my needs monitors need to be as flat as possible. Both are pretty flat. The Dyn's have this crossover thing going on. The Adam's just haven't let me down on even the busiest mixes.

If it's for listening have you considered going for something like a pair of B&W 602 and pairing them with a decent power amp (Bryston, Rotel, Hafler etc). A pile of mastering houses use a set up like this.

Or of course you could sell your Digi ones and put all your money together for a pair of Barefoot MM27s!

no not really considered passives, il give those B&W's a look, heard of them before. looks like its back to the drawing board. however i did see the reply in regards to the Bm5's possibly having different crossovers to the new Bm6's and Bm12's. i currently love the Bm5's, a lovely sounding Monitor.
Thanks for your advice Trev

I bought the BM 6A Mk11's a couple of months ago from Romford. Jason was really helpful in spending time with me and we mostly checked the P11A's against the Dynaudios. I actually found that the Adam's seemed somehow "hollow" (difficult to explain), and eventually went with the Dynaudios. I have used them quite a bit and have not been disappointed. However, I always think that monitors are a very personal choice, what suits one may not suit another.
