SL will no longer load my NI Kontrol1 Driver Program either.

The driver doesn't actually do much, other then allow users to select or create a preset for the keyboard shortcuts the controls emulate over whichever software you specify. But it was one of my favourite features of the device. The wheel can be programmed as a fader or a giant skip wheel for Logic etc.

The interface is stil working okay tho

Perhaps you tempestuous young early adopters are now beginning to understand the point of waiting until the system is stable... Tiger works like a dream ya know!

If you were making a virus for it you couldn't have done a better job.

I think you'll find that soon it will be safe for you to upgrade to Leopard.

True story: a mate/colleague of mine who does audio is like Trev (and me, I guess!) in that he avoids dot-zero releases of almost everything.

Anyway, last week he rang me up, apparently there was some software package for location recording that he needed, but it was required that he be running Leopard. He was still on Tiger, like Trev (because if it ain't broke, don't fix, etc). However, he couldn't find anyone who actually had any Leopard upgrade discs in stock anymore (and there was no way in h*ll he was gonna do Snow Leopard...) - so he was trying to track down a used copy. I found one for him in the end - through another mate of mine who is the fastest early adopter that there is (but doesn't work in any kind of production environment so pretty much gets away with it)... he had an old set of discs lying around from two computers ago, so he got a few quid, my other mate is now happily running 10.5 on his Powerbook G4 12" and everyone's a winner.

Ah... Big difference here... I've had the leopard disk for 18 months!

You all need to switch to PCs for stability and non-existent OS problems.

When will you MAC owners learn?
