And did it at least buy it dinner or get it suitably drunk first?

Mastering plugs really hurt it. It's similar with stuff like Elephant and Vintage Warmer. It'll happily run 25 midi channels with reverb/delay and other FX but as soon as I use the ones i've mentioned more than a couple of times then I start hitting it's limits. Saying that I never render anything but a stereo out from my master so it's probably my fault.

Someone elsewhere said it's the same as Ozone in that respect.

A bit early to get any judgements because I don't think anyone really wants to pay for it and that's reflected in the early assessments I've read.

It's not being judged on what it does but more on what it offers or doesn't offer, especially if you have Ozone.

The dust will settle soon enough.

I'd say more memory is the way forward for you then.

XP Pro used to take upto around 512Mb of RAM to run on my old pc. So that's 1/4 of your memory taken up.

Since I've put 4 gig of ram in my computer, I've never looked back. Although you are bound by Xp's limit of 3GB limit for addressing RAM.

Ive been working on a dance track the last few days , so i downloaded the Alloy Demo and tried it on my dance track on various elements Piano , Bass , Pads , Drums etc but i just could't get it to sound as good or better than the plugins i already had on the mix mainly UAD ones.

Maybe Alloy might impress on other tracks & material ? ill keep trying.
