I think this is actually a pretty good update...now that they have added Electrik Piano to K4 which saves me having to buy it separately >tee hee.

In addition to that the choir collection may also save me buying Spectrasonics rather exquisite SOV which at about £250+ is around double the price of a K3 - K4 upgrade my most likely route to K4.

I think K4 also has a new patch browser which should simplify finding content even further.

Not as big a leap as K1 to K2 IMO but K4 ticks most of the boxes I need.

If you were considering getting SOV for £250+ you'd probably be better off getting Omnisphere which contains most of the SOV samples as well as thousands of more sounds.

True. But that route costs more than the K4 upgrade path for me even though I can upgrade from Atmosphere to Omni for a reduced price. I might not need as much content as SOV offers.

Hi dude

Yeah K6 is a pretty good deal price wise. Thankfully I did not buy K5 during the recent price drop. >phew< I would think K6 might be my second choice after a straight upgrade to K4 from K3 option. I don't need Absynth 5 (never really been a fan of it) but GR4 looks good but I have Izotope Trash which is pretty incredible so maybe K3 - K4 is a better route for me .

I was kinda hoping... ...you would not ask me about updating the Sonar User Review thread (gulp)

I would really have to update it with 8.3 and then 8.5 (looks like 8.5 for sure now not 9) at some point. That would turn the Sonar 8 user review thread into a sprawling epic mass of a review! Sounds like fun

I would also have to change the thread title.

While it will not be immediate I would like to "complete" the whole Sonar 8 series at some point. That really would be some review unless Cakewalk release a Sonar 8.7 in future just to wind me up

Wasn't aware, but finally NI are offering a crossgrade until the end of the year, you can upgrade from Kontakt 1/2/3 or Reaktor 2/3/4/5 straight to Komplete 6 for €299... I think I'll be upgrading my Reaktor 4 and sticking my current copies of Kontakt 3, Absynth 4 and FM8 on fleabay... that might even fund the whole upgrade!

Dave, I suggested this - during the Komplete 5 sale.

Obviously, it goes under one license but for long term users of the product, people could have had Komplete 5 for the price of selling only 4 items (1 being Kontakt) to get 11.

Seems kinda obvious apart from the re-sale issue, of course.

No they didn't. It just involved selling what people had - it paid for it.

4 for 11 seems a good swap to me.

Ive got K2 & K3 librarys on my drive as some stuff on k2 is missing in K3 so older projects wouldn't open without K2 library , so if i now upgrade to K4 looks like ill have to have all 3 librarys on my drive ... total madness ...
