Default Korg Micro XL coming Feb.'09

Looks like a new version of the Korg Micro classic is due very soon (probably at the Winter NAMM show)

Korg Micro XL

Micro XL features:
Increased polyphony
Advanced sound engine
.. and it's not replacing the classic Micro..

We've spoken to Korg Towers in Milton Keynes and the MicroKORG XL will be more expensive than the microKORG which is why they won't discontinue the current model. You have to pay for the extra polyphony - but do you need it?

Shipping February. Would n't it be a great forum prize next year?

Default Why the MicroKorg XL will cost more

The key bed is higher quality
The synth engine is the same as R3/RADIAS/EMX1
Increased polyphony
KP3 derived effects
LCD display

These are just the headlines....

Expect to see them late Jan/early Feb 2009

not alot of sounds on board though..128 is pretty bad in this day and age when some ship with thousands.the orginal one shipped with 128 sounds but was very cheap to buy and sounded phat as hell if your gonna charge more and start saying its got the same sound capabiltys as the r3 then it should have more sounds to reflect the prices..i guess ill see how much it is and hope korg see sense and drop the price of the micro korg to reflect the differences the upgraded model has..

if its more than 300 pounds then i think ill save up to buy a real korg r3 its only a bit more and will have a bigger keys and look cooler ..

What I'd like to know is whether it's light or not? We never really got to the bottom of that.
