Wow...stretching that sheet or film across a TV is exactly what many manufaturers will want to do. That would be great but the quality of the output would have to be much better. I am guessing it is not bad already but an even more interesting future application would be speakers that perhaps wrapped around the edge of a 24" touchscreen surface.

With software moving to touch screen, in future many more music apps (like Lemur, Usine) will be far more common place.

Touch screen versions of Live, Sonar e.t.c are not far off IMO. Within 3 to 5 years IMO maybe sooner.

So keeping the screen free for touchscreen use would be great but having a studio monitor grade speaker sheeting, around the edge of a monitor would be superb. At least I can dream about it but I would never have dreamt of the tech breakthough in that link!

Good point but with enough dev. cash maybe that trip wire could be dealt with. Would be great if it did not distort the image and would have to be at least that good.

I would not be surprised to hear more of this technology in future.

its been about ages except they used to use opaque sheets instead of transparant film. no doubt it will progress even further

I think I'll stick to the currently available tried and tested options to be on the safe side.
