Exclamation SFX Machine RT Group Buy - limited time, act now!

Hi folks -

Just got wind of a group buy for the multifx/sound design VST/AU plug-in SFX Machine RT (the buy also includes ReSpatializer, a surround panner.) The discount is currently at 75%, the max discount is a staggering 84%, but the buy ends tomorrow, so act fast!

Info on SFX Machine RT: http://www.sfxmachine.com/rt/index.html
On-line "demo": http://www.sfxmachine.com/simulator/index.html

Info on ReSpatializer:http://www.sfxmachine.com/respatializer/index.html

Group buy info/sign-up link:

http://www.sfxmachine.com/rt/groupbuy.html

(note: I'm hoping this is safe to post here as DV doesn't sell this plug-in, nor will they, it's just the one dev doing business direct! I'm not affiliated with them in any way other than being in on the group buy and looking forward to scooping a bargain!)

Looks like a pretty good deal with little time to think it over

Don't think anyone's confirmed until the group buy ends - we won't pay for it until next week. Unlike some GBs this one is working on the honour system, where you sign up, hope for the best and pay whatever sum it gets to after it's finished, so I imagine we won't be getting invoices till next week.

IK have run quite a few earlier this year. Some pretty crazy deals. They do this kind of thing a lot on KVR some other forums as well I think. Maybe it can also be done on DV here? Another thread topic to avoid derailing this one...

Here's a list of a few things I've obtained from Group Buys and the discounts I've gotten:

Modartt Pianoteq (30%)
PSP 'Everything' bundle (50%)
Wave Arts Power Suite (50%)
Ohm Force All All Bundle (60%)
Eiosis AirEQ (40%)
IK Amplitube Jimi Hendrix (technically free)*
IK Sonik Synth 2 (technically free)*
IK Sampletank (engine only - at least 50% off)
IK Studiophonik (not even out yet, but I get it when it's released - 50%ish)

(* obtained on a group buy for the other two IK products listed and some sounds that go with them - the group buy was done during IK 2 for 1 deals)

You commit yourself to buy at the lowest price the group qualifies for.

This works a bit like that stupid Freeview channel where "everyone pays the lowest price," except in this case the low price is dependent on there being a high number of buyers. No matter when you jump in, you'll pay the lowest price, it's just dependent on lots of people jumping in.

Some GBs require you to pay in advance the lowest amount the GB can possibly hit - then if it hits the maximum discount, everyone simply gets the product. But if it doesn't hit the max discount (which is always a risk) then everyone has to pay a little extra to get the product. This will generally still be cheaper than buying it at retail.

I've seen the odd group buy for hardware as well (notably Metric Halo who did one a few years back) but I've never participated in those, only software GBs.

Correct. And if it gets to 300 people, everyone gets that price.
