Default ACID PRO 7 finally.... :)

ACID Pro 7 details have finally surfaced. I thought they had dropped it completely. The last time Sony gave any details of a new version of ACID Pro was back in January of 2006!

Highlights for me...

1. Elastique Pro algo for time stretching...(Reaper uses this) I think even Live only uses Elastique efficient IIRC.

2. Finally...Audio Midi and Bus track meters. Should have been there ages ago IMO but it was badly needed and ACID looked a bit behind the times without these somewhat basic features.

3. Real time rendering.

4. Enhanced Beat mapping.

5. Audio and Midi Mixing Console...a bit late to the party but again much needed and a nice addition.

I think when Apple added Bootcamp to OSX it might have put the brakes on some developers plans to take time out and update/upgrade their products to work natively on OSX.

On that basis it looks like it might be some time before Soundforge, Vegas or ACID support OSX. Having said that there have been so many radical shake ups in the last 2 - 3 years within the Music Software industry, OSX support might yet happen. But I doubt it will be soon.

To be honest i don't think it will happen period, SF is on version 9 i think and no sign, so think it's a no go, shame

ACID 7 also has bundled software. I did not see that first time around. The Izotope powered FX rack includes a delay, phaser, flanger and a dynamics plug.

I think the Sony developed plugs were DX, yes. I can't remember if The Kontakt Sampler that shipped with ACID 6 was DXi or not. Ozone does not have a DX version anymore so maybe the Sony Izotope plugs are VST this time around. Either way they should be high quality plugs.
