Default New Track - Magic Pill

Here's a first mix of the new track I have been working on recently.

Let me know what you think, please! Any suggestions etc

This may sound totally daft but my first thought after the abrupt ending was that the next track on the CD would be a lighter track starting with a jangly guitar rhythm, something like the first 18 seconds of I Don't Feel Like Dancin' by Scissor Sisters.

Chris, I write and play totally different to you but I always enjoy listening to your songs. I think if you were gigging these songs your band would develop a loyal fan base. As for instant likeability your material doesn't always have a catchy hook but I see that as a good thing as it stops it being instant liked and in the next instant dismissed.

This song sounds to me like one more solid song from you, not better or worse than the others, just a nice album track that deserves its place on a CD (which shows my age, not wanting individual tracks). As is usual for you, the level of production is impressive (to my ears).

Will there eventually be a solo of some sort over the intro and middle section?

Here's a little update on this one. I'm pretty happy with it but appreciate any advice or suggestions.

First impression is the overall mix has much more definition particularly the drums and is sounding much better than the original. The Lead Vox at break section is a bit on the startling side dynamically for me though that might be exactly the feel you are going for if it is then it worked.

It all starts with a thought You are off to a good start with an arrangement - do you have a melody line in mind yet?
