Hi all.
The Band gigs I have mixed sound for have, so far gone ok with no real problems. I have been advised though to get a Main P.A Graphic EQ. So, question is where do I start? Do I go for manual eq, auto EQ, PInk Noise generator, special mike and spectrum analyser or what? I have looked at manuals of DBX 2231, Samson D1500 and ART HQ231 and the last option seems a good place to start. DBX looks good but seems to require a lot of experience to use properly. What's your view please? Also, as I will have to get a rack case for final selection , what other items (if anything) may I need to fit into this later on for live gigs so I get the right size in first place? Thanks again! Don |

Are you planning the eq solely to deal with feedback problems? What is it that t you don't like at the moment?

Hi - good question!!
I was advised by an experienced sound engineer to get a Graphic EQ as I might not be so lucky next time with acoustics and thus feedback could be a problem. Also, I guess I have to learn to use EQ with wide frequency range to improve the final sound quality in terms of crispness, getting rid of boomy sound etc? Does this help?? |

Take a look at the dbx driverack pa. The smaller ones can be picked up for little money and are very effective.

Sorry, should have told you we run Mackie 450 activ speakers for main PA and Behringer Euromaster Powered Mixer and Passive speakers for foldback.
Is your recommendation still the right bit of kit with our rig? What about the Driverack PX? |
