I've been offered once of these for half the normal price (£500 instead of £1000+!), so I'm sorely tempted to buy it, but I'm not 100% sure if I should. It's new with 3 years warranty etc.
I know the RMX series is well regarded and you see real old ones around working as well as the day the left the factory. The PLX seems to be the new kid of the block, so I was wondering what people's thoughts in this amp is? I'll be using it to power 4 x 8 ohm horn subs, so I'll be loading each channel with 4 ohms, which I guess should be a piece of cake as this amp is 2 ohm stable. So, yay or nay? I already have a few other budget amps (Phonic Max, Numark something), and a Crest Audio amp that is older than me, all running fine, but even so nothing that will deliver 1Kw, let alone 3Kw! Forgot to mention, the horn subs will use Eminence Definimax 4012 drivers, 600W rms rating, but I plan to use a limiter as I don't want toasty voicecoils! ![]() |
