Spectral Layers
Came across this the other night - looks real interesting. I've just started downloading the trial to give it a shot.
Anyone come across it? http://www.divideframe.com/?p=spectrallayers |
Looks super cool. iZotope RX2 Advanced can do some similar things. Will be interesting to compare them.
Can't see a price though...? Is it actually for sale yet? I may just be blind... |
After a bit of digging about, i saw the price at $695. But then on the site it says it's 'set to be released by Sony', so not sure what's going on there.
I've yet to have a real play with the trial yet. Didn't realise there RX2 could do similar, do you use it? |

The Spectral Editor in Advanced is pretty amazing. You can select frequencies with free-hand drawing tools or smart tools to get rid of offending stuff. iZotope also just released Iris which has a similar type of spectral modification front-end but it's more of a sound design tool for manipulating the audio and then playing it back like an instrument. Anyway, $695 isn't too bad considering that RX2 Advanced is around $1200 or so I think... although RX2 has lots more in the way of noise reduction/restoration tools as well... |
