SOS may not come with a DVD, but it does refer to online content in some articles; that could be a benefit to your space saving ethos.

What SOS also provide is their entire history of articles (or most of it) on their website. They are commonly known by the acronym 'SOS' (as you can see here). So, if you're ever looking around for something on a search engine - details on mastering, for example - then you can suffix your search with 'SOS', and you should end up with a Sound On Sound article on that subject (unless it hasn't already been written).

Anyway; good luck with your first 3 months - I really hope you enjoy it.

Yes, online means I don't have to build more bookcases!! LOL

From what I understand, the online subscription of 3 months includes access to the last 7 issues.

Thanks for the tip on using the SOS suffix. Does that work with anything else that might be useful?

At the risk of sounding like I work for SOS (which I don't!) the other thing they do is sell all the backissues as PDFs on CD-ROMS giving you full searchable access to all their articles. I currently have every issue from 1998-2004 on their CD-ROMS... brilliant resource.

Good one Dave. Before moving from Ireland to Spain, I dumped all the issues I had bought from 1999-2003 (after tearing out what I thought I wanted to keep!) with the intention of getting the CD-ROMs. Thanks for reminding me...I still haven't got round to it!
