Christmas List

So what's on your list musically?

I've got a few things in mind but I'm still undecided.
The alphatrack may be next. I don't really need a multi-channel control surface but I wouldn't mind that one.

Too many plug-ins to think about. Not sure if I'll ever use them though.

I won't be embarrassed if any of you buy me a big present.

I hope that the soprano sax mouthpiece I bought in September and arrived in UK beginning of October and was sent back to USA in November because I never paid the customs charges I was never told about, arggghhhh........ does not arrive here again the day after I go to Ireland for Christmas and then get sent back to USA because I will not be here to pay charges that they will probably forget to tell me about again.

Well, after that little rant I'll say I have enough musical toys to play with and don't wish for much more except for World peace etc. Take it away Michael.......

You can pay the charges over the phone via a card

True, but you need to know the package is here and that charges are due. They never even told me it had arrived the last time. This time I will make sure I get a tracking number when it is sent. I will then be able to track online when it arrives and when the status changes to "Awaiting payment of charges"

Can you not pay the charge before its sent?

Surely the delivery boy doesn't turn up, and then hold you to ransom and walk off unless you pay 'on the spot'.

What they do is that they contact you when it's arrived in the UK. It's not a contract with the shop as it's not part of the sale - it becomes a contract with the delivery firm.

They are supposed to give a ring and let you know there is a charge and you agree to either pay it over the phone or when they arrive.

That's what UPS does!! Cash only, too! At least Parcelforce, despite their extortionate "clearance fees" gives you the chance to pay in advance with plastic if you want to, by phone or by web.

Fedex is sneakier: they just deliver it, and then you get an invoice in the post a few days later... so there's no way to refuse it based on their (also) extortion.

Speaking of Christmas songs - I usually send a singing Christmas telegram to a few members of the family. It's the one time they get to really enjoy a flat monotone sound.

Last year I wrote a song about what gifts they got and a few of their foibles to Green Day's Basket Case - very fitting

Do you have the time
For mistletoe and wine etc........

did you give him a couple of kicks while he was down, maybe into a slight state of unconciousness for good measure i mean you are from Liverpool:p

I_Am_Bic_Pentameter 28th November 2008 11:30 PM

And don't you forget it.

He's never going to walk properly if he uses his crutch as a ermmm.... crutch. I threw it away.

A few hours later he was dancing. I took him to the local hop.
