Default Cheating on DV

If it's not too incriminating...what's your most recent non-DV purchase and why?

I ordered books from Amazon this week for obvious reasons. See here Books Books and more Books

There is a DV just down the road from where I work so if I can I go in and buy stuff there

However, I was on the other side of the city the other day looking for a gift for someone, and I had to buy a M-Audio Oxygen 8 V2 in another store, I had to buy it urgently on a lunch break, so didn't have time to go to DV - where it would have been 20 cheaper!!!

Sad, sad times.

If I don't get it from DV, I usually just ebay the item, or get it from my local music shop. There has been an occassion when I used a certain unmentionable-on-these-forums-because-we-can't-mention-the-competition German company to buy my talkbox because it was very cheap.

Yup.
I'll probably be "cheating" on DV again later this week, but it's their own fault for not selling Zvex pedals.

I can't help but keep cheating on them. I did the same with a girlfriend a while ago, and it really did make me feel bad. She never found out, but that's not really the point.

My latest bout of etailer adultery was when I had to buy some guitar wall hangers. My guitar collection has grown completely out of control thanks to Gumtree (sorry again, DV - but can you begrudge me for paying 65 for a Vintage VRS110c, or 70 for an Epiphone Les Paul?), and limited bedroom space meant that I had to buy wallhangers for my guitars. All fifteen of them. I found these on eBay for 4, and emailed the seller asking if he'd be happy to offer me a bulk price. We settled on 40 and did the deal by phone to save him eBay and Paypal fees, and they arrived today.

I didn't like cheating on DV, and I know that they would've offered me a discount too if I'd asked nicely, but asking them to reduce a 156 cart to 40 seemed a bit rich. I guess it's just the problem with outfits like DV247 - they only have limited space, and it makes much more financial sense to stock a 2k mic in the space occupied by a 10 guitar wall hanger. It makes a lot more financial sense to me too, since that 2k mic would be 1.8k at DV247. But small items, they've never been friendly to retail stores anyway, so I guess it figures.

Can't beat DV247 for big, first-hand purchases, though. They're great.

I tend to check DV first these days (used to be ******* and ******* ) as does my girlfriend.

By the natture of my job and when I can be at home in the week is rather unpredictable, so I tned to find out Im going to be at home for a day and order stuff from whomever has it in stock, even if that means paying a little more sometimes.
