Default Buzzin' Fly

How have I missed the output from this label?

http://www.buzzinfly.com/buzzed.html

Ben Watt (ex E.B.T.G.) is the label head/creative force behind this.. Listenable, melodic, deep, sexy, techy, intelligent and stimulating House music.. For iPod, Car, Dinner Party or Dancefloor - DO check it out - maybe here?

Yo MOdz...how have you missed these !

For me, they went a bit too clever. It stopped working on the type of people I was playing to, so I've not looked at them for awhile.

Some of there earlier bits were wicked though. I still love 'Lone Cat'.

You should hear the version without the replayed samples...altho the Groove Junkies mix on the replay release was slick !

This is the original with the unclearable samples !

A very timely reminder for me actually to go dig this out of my record collection and rip it to digital.

Love the beats, clever arrangement of the vocal samples (they were two very diff records, I've forgotten their names) and just generally usual Ben Watts Goodness. A quick look on discogs will tell you.

I remember being amazed when I heard that Ben was 1/2 of EBTG with Tracy Thorn. They didn't do a 'house' record ever...they got mixes in (like the todd terry ones) instead. My fav being the Spen & Karizma mix of Temperamental.

The other big one I remember from this label was 'Sad Piano' by Justin Martin. They did new mixes this year, but they weren't quite on par with the original for me. That said, I was really impressed with Charles Webster's rendition of it. Nice, mellow, full of great sub bass.

Charles Webster Version

Jimpster Version

Original not on Y.T. Here's a Juno clip tho
