Default Pro Tools on Windows

Hey guys,

Recently, I've realised that in many of the areas I want to work, the desired platform of choice is Pro Tools, pretty much always on Macs.

With that in mind, I want to try and pick it up. My last attempt was with a bundled copy of Pro Tools M-Powered 7(point something I can't remember) LE. It didn't want to recognise any of my M-Audio hardware (2496 and 1010 interfaces driven by the bundled drivers as well as the latest Delta drivers) Useless.

With the new version, I'd like to try it out again, but am wondering

- How different is the Windows version to Mac (is it quite different or similar enough?)
- Does anyone have experience of using it with Windows or can compare the two?

Ideally, I don't want to have to fork out for a Mac Pro as I'm just finishing up my i7 system build. I gather the app is pretty much built with Macs in mind...

Any advice, pointers etc. is always appreciated

The interface is virtually identical (except you dont get to see the wheel of death nearly so often on a mac.)
