Default Has anyone bought the Kore/Komplete combo?

Im thinking of splashing my cash on the Komplete/Kore combo. I already own Komplete synths which is a bit of a bummer as thats 4 parts oof the deal, but it still seems worth the cash.

How does it all integrate..i.e I love the arpeggiator on FM8, is it possible to use it across the whole sound engine in Kore?

Default Kore and Komplete is a good combo... if you've got a use for it all!

I love NI's software, and I bought Kore and Komplete last year (about a month before K5 was announced to be released ). The only criticism I have with the whole package is that the Kore hardware is not a crucial necessity. While it's fantastic to have this lovely, futuristic-looking box, it is little more than a software-specific controller/transport; especially now they have removed the built-in audio interface for the version 2 model.

Having said that, the integration is superb, and the resolution on each rotary controller is so high. Plus it has the ability to create control maps for your 3rd party plugins; DX, VSTi or AU. But I'll tell you what I've found which makes it all the more fantastic; if you're a Pro Tools user, you can use the Kore multi-out RTAS plugin and load all your non-RTAS (i.e. plugins you cannot get for PT) plugins into separate channels, and route them with aux outs, midi ins, etc! To me, that is a stunning bonus!

The Komplete package itself is great. You can't go wrong with Native Instruments plugins. They're so innovative, and will provide years of fun.

You really can't go wrong for the price! But once you've checked it out properly, go on to the NI forum and get everyone to look at my post about 'Kore Mode'; it's a brilliant idea! I don't know why no one's responded to my post. Check it out here

I hope I've helped!

Yeh, unfortunately Kore doesn't work that way. It has it's own arpeggiator and sequencer modules that you can add to different channels though; and it has a host clock, or will sync to your host sequencer.

Think of it as a really modular plugin. They need to iron out a few creases, but it'll run perfectly fine in most circumstances (unless you're like me, and what to know if it can act like a live sequencer - then it takes a beating).

What I suggest you do is download the demo and figure out what it does for yourself; I was a little confused with the purpose of Kore before I bought the package. It should certainly advance your understanding of Kore, and help you determine whether it'd be a good purchase.

I bought the Komplete+Kore2 pack from DV mainly because of the great price and I knew I wanted at least some of the synths. Having said that I had already registered Guitar Rig 3, so I was duplicating one product in the pack.

The controller looks really sexy but I haven't really used it much...I kinda forget about it and realise I am turning knobs with the mouse instead of on the hardware.

Like mrfracas said Kore is modular and is great for building up sounds. I haven't got around to tweaking sounds too much yet.

The one disadvantage I found with Komplete is that it is overwhelming. There are so many new instruments to learn and explore. But I LOVE IT! The sounds are fantastic. The flexibility is great. A mate of mine was playing around with my Kore over the weekend and is gone off now to buy one! It is a beast of a package but I am enjoying exploring it!!

NP!

It's the sample library that you'll probably find most overwhelming! And then the wealth of manuals.

Good luck!
