iZoptope release the new iDrum for the ipod and iphone. I know there is alot of beat making tools for the devices but this seems wiki.
iDrum allows users to combine professional sound content and patterns to create their own music. The iDrum application takes advantage of unique features of the iPhone platform—users can tap virtual pads to create rhythms, shake the handset to clear patterns, and use slide and flick gestures to navigate the application’s interface. Immersive, colorful visuals show the relationship between different sounds in the beat, allowing users to create new rhythms by creating visual patterns. Using a special companion application, beats can even be turned into ringtones for iPhone. DjRo |

Sounds cool - a lot cooler than some of the useless nonsense that came preinstalled on my iPod Touch
![]() Where can you find out more? There seems to be nothing on iZotope's web site (or I'm just blind). (BTW - I've just been inspired to go to the Apple Store and buy the upgrade to the iPod Touch software - I'll let you know if it's worth £5.99 ) |

All iPhone/iPod Touch apps are sold through the App Store, an extension of iTunes, no exceptions! I think the iZotope apps are about £2.99 each, and so far there's two, one for 'hip-hop' and one for 'club' beats...

Strangely the iPhone Apps which were nowhere to be seen on the izotope web site last night, are now featured in a huge banner at the top of the page, and when you follow the link, the details page has a link to the iTunes store. (And even though the initial prices are shown in $, iTunes is smart enough to show you only the iZotope Apps in £ )
As usual, we get ripped off in the $ - £ conversion - when was the last time $4.99 = £2.99 ? On the bright side, at these prices, who cares! |
