Default New plugins from Focusrite

Spotted info on these at KVR. Looks like they may be emulation of the Red series... which would be nice!

I seen them over at Kvr too , my first thought were is they were anywhere near the quality of the Red series surely Focusrite would be asking more than $99 ?

MMMM sound like they have been modeling......

Key Features:
Sonic Quality: From the team behind the Forté Suite and the famous Focusrite hardware line.
Faithful Recreation Of Classic Compressors & Gates: Modeled on original ear-tuned hardware optical compressors, exclusive to Focusrite, Scarlett's dynamics modules deliver that authentic 1960s Opto sound.
Multi-modes Enable Creative Gating Techniques: The Gate can operate in stereo mode and, in different dual mono configurations, one signal can be used to trigger the gate of another. Ideal for tightening up a bass line, for example.
Classic Focusrite EQ Curves & Controls: Scarlett uses the same Focusrite six-band EQ approach as the Red 2 and ISA EQs, with filters, parametric mids and shelving, all modeled to offer an authentic response across the entire audible frequency spectrum.
Professional Reverb With Concise Controls: Based on classic algorithmic studio reverb designs. Easy to use controls get you to the ideal reverb sound in seconds.
GUI With Life-like Port-hole VU Meters: Scarlett features a red anodized aluminum look, extremely detailed metering and other visual elements from Focusrite's recording history

Hope they sound as good as they look

Not sure I quite understand the relevence IABP, unless you're alluding to the "Red" connection... if that's the case, then surely the Red connection has an awful lot more to do with Focusrtite's Red series hardware units... at least that's what I was thinking about.

I mean that plug-in.
I've always meant to ask about it.
How it works - why anyone would use and all that.
Seemed like a good opportunity to sneak it in.

Yep, I can see that.

Just seems a bit odd.

Seems rather expensive for a cross feed + 6dB/Oct (?) filter plugin...

Can knock this kind of thing up in max/msp in a few mins.

Actually if its doing the job properly - it needs to have switchable 6/12dB/Oct filters depending on whether its emulating ported or non-ported speakers
