Hmm - forgot to mention that - I have found it very useful on a paino once. Good if you need an old school plate, not much use if you dont, but you cant just buy that, you need to get the DSP card etc and unsuprisingly the DSP plugin set has loads that you will probably never use and not all of those you will use

cue conversation.. RE: Lexicon Reverb plug-in.

Bank Manager: Hello sir, How may I help you today?

KoolZ: I would like to take out a loan...

Bank Manager: Sure, not a problem, may i ask why you require one?

KoolZ: I want to buy the new Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plug-in bundle..

Bank Manager: Sounds Hi-Tech, is it some sort of electrical appliance?

KoolZ: Not quite, it is a computer software

Bank Manager: (looks puzzled...), umm....OK, How much is it?

KoolZ: $1899.

Bank Manager: (laughs histerically...) Good day sir!!

In the software world I own TL space and Revolver. I am a big fan of the TC vss4/non-lin plugs. The UAD 140 plate is awesome. But hell, you can pick up at new Lexicon pcm96 for about £1350 if you shop carefully nowadays...!

Looks interesting at first glance but on a careful read, like with the MX series hardware units, it doesnt say anywhere that it actually uses PCM algorithms (and to be frank only a handful of them are worth a candle). Instead it uses vague references to legendary lexicon reverbs. I was sucked into the MX thing when they came in because I didnt read carefully enough and was pretty disappointed when I tried to use the reverbs in a mix project. It languishes in my live rig nowadays.

Then definitely not worth the asking price, ridiculous amount for a plug-in anyways

It's actually about the same price as the TC TDM pack but:
1. it isn't TDM and
2. like I said above, it doesnt look like it's the genuine algorithm thing (if it is and they did it in TDM it would be worth a look for anyone who makes money out of this game)

VSS4? did you mean VSS3? the "4" is not available outside the system 6000 yet, unfortunately - EXCEPT - the fabrik R (for powercore, or as a DSP insert on TC interfaces) allegedly (ie, according to TC) uses algorithms derived from VSS4 (but with a very simplified interface/controls).

the TC M4000 box has VSS4 algos in it as well, but I can't actually find a UK price on it offhand (it's USD $2,499 so probably not what you'd call "cheap" but likely less than a Bricasti).

I prefer the "shiny" sound of the TC algos to the "gooey" sound of the Lex stuff, but as always ymmv.

I love Eos - it sounds lovely.

I also like REVerence that comes with C5. Not bad at all, and CPU friendly as of 5.1 with 64bit and a lot of RAM. Hang on, maybe that's not so friendly.

Sure beats the old Cubase reverbs. They sounded like something being played down an empty pringles tube.

I was just going to say, failing the software option, I often mic up empty tubes of Pringles.

Chain is - amp>pringles tube>Brauner Phantom AE>Steinberg MR816x
