Assuming you want the entire soundset of the 808 then the Nepheton VST by D16 is among the better ways of achieving the authentic sound. Might be pricey if all you want is the kick for example :-

I never,ever thought I'd see a post from Trev asking about synthesised or sampled drums.

Love to hear what he uses it for. Maybe teaching kids that electronic music is wrong ?

I know Trev has a copy of Reason he doesn't use.

The 808 sampleset for Re;Drum is prettty authentic.

My fave 808 collection is in NI Battery. Cleverly titled "Ate Oh Wait" or something close to that..
