EEK!! Komplete 3 Mac OS compatibility

Hey guys,

anyone running Komplete 3 on latest Mac OS?

So far i've found info saying that only 5 of the instruments can be used as a plug-in as they are Universal Binary, but the other half cannot.

Native Instruments didn't answer my question thoroughly and said that Komplete 3 isn't compatible, I need to upgrade to Komplete 5.

To me it sounds as if they are just trying to get more money, but can anyone confirm they are running Komplete 3 on Mac OS 10.5 and they can use some instruments as plug-ins in Logic or just any DAW for instance?

Also, my logic makes me believe I can just upgrade Absynth 3 (that comes with Komplete 3) to Absynth 4 - is it possible to upgrade components of Komplete 3 or can you only upgrade these instruments when they are purchased individually?

Sorry guys. Could really do with the help here (especially as I trust your opinions) and there is nothing posted by N.I. that informs you about the compatibility of previous incarnations of Komplete.

sorry i cant offer any advice but im curious to know how the upgrade situation works too?

I do not know the programme or Mac.

I would read your paperwork on Komplete 3. It either says if it is or isn't compatible. If it is, then complain and if it's not, then you will have to upgrade.

Upgrades within programmes, such as the one you mention, vary as to how this is done (some via patches etc) but it should be clear as to how you do it and the procedures. Some are only if purchased seperately. It should say somewhere though.

this was released before the latest Mac OS (fairly sure as we're now on Komplete 5) so it won't say if it is or is not. I think this software was released before Intel-based Macs came to be which is why there is a problem with some of the instruments that came with it.

Will check it out for the upgrades though. Procedure may have changed since then. Think that unless someone knows for sure I should just call NI on Monday.

I've emailed our good friends at Arbiter (N.I. distributors) for you on this query..
Being Christmas eve I'm pretty sure they're on Hols now, but knowing their usual efficiency, will reply as soon as they do see it..

Hey Modz1,

don't suppose there has been any info on this has there?

The guy I bought it from said he had contacted NI to remove registration from his account, but come today, it is still registered to him.

Anyone have any idea how long it takes NI to remove registration from one user?
