Default Heard voices like this...?

I am looking for a sound set like SOV from Spectrasonics. Maybe cheaper

I think most of these ship with Omnisphere but that is not a main priority for me right now due to the price.

Do you know of any similar sound sets like these?

Tenor

Choir Swells

Pop Stacks

Some of the sounds are truly exquisite I must say. But do any of you know of something similar and cheaper?

Thanks

Hi Monarch

I think this is definitely one of those cases where you get what you pay for.

As I’m sure you know, Spectrasonics libraries are very well respected because they pay a LOT of attention to detail and they just do things right (with regard to sampling). At £274, it is a lot for a sample library, but it does sound very, very good.

I spent a long time converting my version to Kontakt programs so that I can easily use them inside Logic.

As for other possibilities? EastWest Symphonic Choirs is £176, not a bad price and not a bad sound, but no Pop Stacks or Tenor soloists though! Forget Voices of Passion, that’s nothing like SoV.

Have you seen this?

The demos sound pretty good.

Here is a longer demo:

Probably as good as you’ll get for £61!

Excellent Tyrone!

I never even heard of ECC. Thanks for the links. I have listened to the demos and they are actually not bad at all for £61. Pretty interesting. I have to say though I am kind of thinking, do I wait and get the Maybach or settle for the smaller but still comfortable lesser motor with some nice alloys?

Your comments on Spectrasonics attention to detail is spot on. Yeah sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Decisions...I guess it might be better to wait. I really thought there might be many more options now but I guess that is why I had to start this thread. Not much else out there. Having tasted Trilogy, Atmos and RMX SOV must be incredible to use. I might just as well wait for the Maybach.

Amazing eh? It is very rare to hear something so moving. A lovely collection if there ever was one. I never tire of hearing those demos.

The reason why I mentioned Omni and SOV is because before Omni was out...Eric did say it would be included. I think he said some of the multisamples would not be he absolutely said SOV would make it into Omnisphere. Really.

I am not sure where you would find it in the Library but unless he changed his mind at the last minute then it really should be there. In any case...I think I may wait now. It is a collectors item IMO, perhaps it is indeed worth its price tag and worth waiting for.

Oh yes. I think it would be impossible to even estimate how often those samples have been used in commercial productions. They are the standard.

Well … there is always something better for just a few dollars more…

Yup, with Spectrasonics stuff you do. And it is a good feeling to have those fantastic and professional sounds at your fingertips!

Well there might be – I’m not an expert But I do know when something sounds professionally made

Oh I know that feeling. I listened to those demos over and over and over and over again until I had SoV.

Well it’s true – some parts of SoV are included. Boys choir is definitely there. I have attached a small demo of one of Omni’s default Multis, which includes the Boys’ choir.

www.tyronehowemusic.com/OmniChoirTest.mp3

Just as an aside, no extra effects or reverb were added to the demo. It’s just as it came out the box.

Yup P, you're absolutely right.

There are a couple of very good choir patches like "English Combined Choir" and "Choir Women Ohs-Ahs Wheel" but nothing like the range covered in SoV.
