Useful thread for me since I'm also looking to getting orchestral plugins, once I'm used to Logic Express 8 since haven't been sequencing for over 10 years (see other thread!)

I assume all of those plugins are fully compatible with Logic Express 8 or are some more compatible than others?

Id love to buy 'Project sam symphobia' however at £899 its out of my price range at the moment especially since i have my eye on a Metric Halo ULN-2
I listened to demos again and I think Miroslav is way to go. I just wonder their pricing policy as you can get total workstation bundle for almost same price as only Miroslav Philharmonik.

Total workstation bundle 2's list price in Finland is 429€ and Miroslavs 389€.
That makes 40€ for sonik synth 2+ Sample tank XL+Sample moog+Sampletron.

So no question which to buy

Oh, and some stores are selling composer trio which includes Sampletank L+ Miroslav CE+ Sonik synth 2 for 179€ while Miroslav CE is 199€
Doesn't make any sense to me

I'm edging towards the Miroslav as well, the interface looks logical and the strings seem somewhat punchier in the demos than the Garritan. The EWQL is not too far behind in quality- is it the ease of use that people struggle with generally for those samples?Only thing that I notice is slightly concerning is that the Miroslav CE quotes a max of 16 channels- is that the case with all soft synths (as in emulating 16 MIDI channels?) If so, is there any way of expanding them? (e.g. loading in 2 copies of the synth!)*I ask because 16 separate channels for a symphony orchestra requires pretty clever use of voices and loads of rapid instrument/MIDI program changes to represent all the instruments!

You should be able to load as many instances as your CPU will allow

Quite many, memory update is easy and cheap with Imac and you can do it by yourself. Just don't use Apple resellers to buy memory as price difference is quite big.

Here you can find suitable memory chip and installation guide
