cubase studio 4 crossgrade help

hi i just got a copy of cubase studio 4 crossgrade and the guy who sold it me said he could only sell it too me if i had ableton live so i said i did.(but its only a demo dvd lol) i paid the money and asked him if steinberg would check to see if i had it he said no they dont useally check ..he said it just installs exactlly the same as the full version no difference the only difference is he couldnt sell it too me cheap unless i told him i was using another daw.

is it true that steinberg wont check up and what happens ive never bought a crossgrade product before..thanks

i think the only way for them to check is for them to send the gastapo round, just bolt the doors.

all seriousness normally on such deals any proof required would be on purchase so i very much doubt you will run into any problems. when i bought Cubase 4 a while back i bought the educational version and the only proof was on initial purchase. also i cant see how they could check you had another DAS unless they where specifically in cahoots with the "other" DAS company so they could referance the serial or similar as proof but as this is probably not the case and would also be a resource hog financially i reckon your cool
