That Obelisk plugs looks pretty hot!!! I will certainly keep an eye on it until the PC version is ready then I can try a demo.

It reminded me of another excellent plug...Izotope Spectron.

Basically use crystallizer on any synth to alter the sound and sometime automate the pitch knob to get that conked out record player effect.

Ah, but I would argue under my original criteria that most of the Soundtoys products do not count for the purposes of this thread. Not that they aren't awesome (they're very awesome), but most of them are modelled on dusty old hardware.

yeah i kind of thought that, but imo only modelled on the very basic fundamental of one, i dont think a bit of hardware has the options they have, crystallizer has no hardware equivalent to my knowledge?

fair enough, the crystallizer definitely is unique, and I guess there are some crazy options in the others... although the echoboy for example may in fact be achievable in a hardware design, although a crazy expensive one at that...

Actually, Logic's compressor is quite a nifty trick.

I don't know of any others that can switch emulation modes. So yes, it does break the rule on emulating hardware, but the fact it can change its colours so easily (and at all) makes it pretty unique to me. There's no way a fet compressor can suddenly become an opto !
