Default electronic percussion software

Was wondering what any of you guys use or would recommend as a really good plug in or piece of software for techno/electro style percussion.

Im bored of my current sounds and am looking for something that I can create my own loops with (rather than just use recorded audio samples).

I've looked at Speedy J's "Kreate" and it looks pretty cool and geared towards my style of music.

Cheers for the link Waxxy gonna check that out now.

Sureno - I use Ableton as my sequncer and have never used a sampler for tracks. I always use my drum machines or inbuilt sounds from Ableton.

Just to add to the suggestions already made...you might also want to consider Stlyus RMX it has thousands of individual sounds and loads of genre specific Multi's / loops you can use as well...host sync e.t.c.

Plenty of material in there for Techno IMO.

Spectrasonics even have a dedicated user tutorial for Ableton users.

Here is an Overview video.

More videos are available here

Mp3 demos can be found here but the mp3's below might give an idea of how it might sound a bit closer to the genre you work in...of course you can make an instrument as flexbile as this fit just about any genre...

White Knuckle

Techno tentacles

Bitshift vs Stylus

Squared Yello Box

If you're after individual hits, Goldbaby are my personal favourites, and a few others would agree.

Failing that, I love the Soniccouture samples - Abstrakt and Konkrete. Really leftfield and have some great glitch style sounds.

Failing that, the Kore Expansion Packs - Synthetic Drums - are pretty good and flexible.

I bought KREATE a couple weeks ago and I was blown away. There are a huge number of drum kits. ideal for loop building.
I've finished 4 tracks since I bought it (which is really good for me).

Hey zenmonkey, welcome to the forum, be sure to introduce yourself here and would be excellent to hear a couple of those tracks with KREATE in them

For sounds in addition to the suggestions already made you might want to have a look at SampleMagic.
