Rob,

The OctoPre will work fine with the DM3200... in fact just about any ADAT based preamps will work. Do be aware, though, that the OctoPres get hot, so be sure to leave 1U spare between each of the OctoPre's and the next bit of kit in your rack, ideally using a 1U grille in the gaps rather than a blanking plate. I'm afraid I'm using Cubase on Vista, so can't advise you directly about Logic on the Mac, but understand from the user forums (www.tascamforums.com) that the Mac drivers for the firewire option are very stable indeed. For setting up the DM with Logic, take a look at the blog here: http://tascam-dm-desks.blogspot.com/

    Hi Dave,

My name is Rob, I noticed a post you left a while ago about the Tascam DM-3200 console. I am considering buying one and was wondering if you could give me some advice on the set up I am thinking of. Like you have done, I would like to add some extra mic pres to the Tascam and was considering buying two Focusrite OctoPres (connected to the ADAT ins on the console, of course with an extra ADAT card) to give a total of 32 mic inputs - I understand you have the same? How is the stability of this setup for you? I will be using Logic 8 on a Mac Pro, connecting the DM via Firewire - do you have any experience of using the Tascam with Logic or know of any stability issues?

Thanks for any help you can give me Dave.

    Rob.

ps. Great looking studio you have there!
