Although I love using Pro Tools LE on my digi002 I'm considering Logic Pro but am concerned whether it will run on the 002 - any one have experience with this?
I've read many forums where it seems to work and others that mention endless problems! The 002 is such a great tool that I don't want to part with it so any advice is appreciated. ______________________________

The 002 will work fine with Logic 7... I can't say if it will work with 8 as i have not tried.
To be honest it has been a while since i used Logic with Digidesign stuff but if i remember rightly it was fairly simple to set up. In a perfect world though i would not use the 002 like this though as there ARE some hang-up problems... why ..? i would not know... perhaps someone with a better tech knowledge would know.!! I would say get a RME Fireface 800/400 for use with Logic... Rocking bit of kit... transparent and trouble free Logic!!! Honestly though, stick with tools.... Hopefully you are running 7.4 and enjoying the new midi and instrument features which i think break ground against Logic ( which is premier programming tool..... not so great for audio though) I just completed the switch back to a complete Tools system.... 003..... from Fireface 800.... Apple done me wrong!!!! after 10 years of loyalty and 7 different macs... and more importantly 1000 dollars for a logic key... they turn around and offer the same program for 180 pound...... bad bad bad bad bad. I guess my point here is ... stick with Pro-tools.... DAW is what they do... and they will support you to the very end. Logic just aint that good!!!! P.S. I'm not trying to stir a bees nest here... just my opinion. Best of luck with what ever rig you use.... use it... don't let it use you!! |

The 002 (and 003 as well) work great with logic 8 (using the Digidesign Core Audio Driver). The only problem is using the 002 (or 003) as a control surface. Now that the 003 has a general purpose MIDI mode, it's a bit easier, but I've been building a MIDI map for Logic for a while now and it still isn't finished!
