I fear we'll never see a logic 64 bit , i have a feeling that logics code is too old it will be to hard a task and apple will string us along by simply keeping quiet , i do hope im wrong.

I personally think 64 bit should of been top of the list before flex time etc.

correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure when sonar went 64 bit it was still able to run 32 bit plugins , so id hope apple follow suit in 2014 when logic 64 gets released , until then ill just have 10 GB's of ram in my mac serving me no purpose.

Well I hope you’re wrong!

When you use sampled instruments, which sampler/rompler do you use?

Then you are basically in trouble

Kontakt 3 (.5) will let you use all the memory in your box, but Omni. RMX. Elektrik Piano, Miroslav only use Logic's memory. Don't know about the Gforce stuff.

But I have read a lot of reports about K3.5 being very good - and peeople being able loads many Gbs of stuff into it.

Stylus RMX and just gone 64 bit

Spectrasonic have the following quote on their website

"• Mac 64 bit support
This version includes 64 bit support on the Mac. At the moment, the only 64 bit host on the Mac is AULab 2.0.1, but expect more shortly"

I hope Spectrasonic have been liaising with the logic team and this is perhaps a hint of logic 64 ?

Very interesting! So if it’s not Logic, what would the options be? DP, Cubase or Live.

There is already a 64 bit version of Cubase for Windows, so presumably it won’t be so hard to convert to Mac. Live isn’t yet (I don’t think) but I imagine they’re working on it. DP 7 has just been announced but no mention about 64 bit.

And Logic, well, who knows??!! The fact that we’ve only just released LP9 makes me think that there’s no way we’ll see 64 bit for a while but … Apple play a very odd game!

Not good – although it was three years ago.

It will be interesting if Steinberg manages to produce a 64-bit Mac version before Logic. Might well make people think of moving.

To be honest, I think if anyone else releases a 64-bit version before Apple then it’s a sad day for Apple
