Yo!
With Ultrabeat - if i create a pattern in the piano editor instead of the sequencer in Ultrabeat, is there anyway of transferring that pattern then into Ultrabeat? Can't seem to figure it out.. |

Do you mean copy it into UB sequencer as a user pattern?
Not sure. Might be worth checking to see where the UB sequences are stored on the HD and then copying your pattern to that folder...if they are midi files. Otherwise, I suppose you'd have to program in each drum part on a new user pattern. ______________________________

I can't even see a place where i can save this pattern and load it.. ![]() |

I hope you don't mind. I've just asked your question on another forum...let's see if there's any response.

My knowledgeble source thinks the sequences are stored with the settings file. If so, I imagine it's not possible...still holding out though.

As far as I know, there is no way to drag midi files into ultrabeat. Unless you program and save the loop within ultrabeat itself. Keeping your patterns in the piano editor is much more flexible anyway. Changing kit wont mean losing the pattern. You can then edit the data if the kit isnt layed out like the one you programmed on

This is what my problem is with it all - editing the beat in the PE then trying to change the actual sounds within UB. Changing the envelope settings for example, doesn't change the sound for my already created beat. Have you got some miraculous solution?! ______________________________

You could automate Ultrabeat.....
My o.p referred to the general midi drum map. Which states that all GM compliant devices line up all types of sound in the same fashion. In cubase you can edit drum maps, rather then move the trigger data in the piano roll...which is what I meant by editing in the piano roll in Logic. Same trick, but doesn't work because obvs UB holds more sounds in a kit then a GM midi map allows...or so I vaguely remember it working like that. |
