Totally agree.

but can I just (respectfully) correct one word of your post?

"spanks" not "spanked"!!

Cubase is STILL light years ahead of Logic in the audio editing department

not for me i dont have it any more so past tense but yes if i still had it there would have to be a weekly spanking session where cubase was the sado and logic the masochist, but i think logic would enjoy it

LOL.

ah well my fingers are crossed that Apple is actually working on Logic - but my gut feeling is that it'll be a year or two before we see anything new.

Snow Leopard and all those iPhones getting on the way.

Maybe they have all their programmers putting in the missing iPhone features like picture messaging, laptop connection and video

I'm new to this forum - and I'm already about to go off topic

... but what I meant was, you cannot use the iPhone as a modem so that your laptop can connect to the internet. Very useful if working away from home or stuck on a train. All my phones for the last 7 years have been able to do that - but not the iPhone. Well that was the last straw for me, i was going to buy one this week but this, for me, is a deal breaker. ho hum

I'm sure I will too - with the next generation of iPhones at least.

I'm also having hard time bouncing to mp3, does anyone have a solution to get good quality mp3's out of logic? Maybe converting to AIFF and back to mp3 with another program?

I guess that’s all you can do.

Maybe this is an Apple / MP3 thing?? I never ever use iTunes to convert my CDs to MP3s because the quality just isn’t that good. Maybe it’s the same engine in Logic?

I've noticed soemt else as well...

Whilst palying through a project. If you stop it and go back to 0, Logic doesn't xlear the audio buffer properly. I keep getting bits of synth from 1/2 way through the track pop up at the start.

Even worse, it still carries the unwanted part when bouncing (on or offline). To stop it happening, you have to go back to 0, press start. Stop and then bounce.

Its not a big thing, buts its really annoying when you bounce and forget about it !

Yes I’ve seen that as well.

Even just playing back from the bar 1 you sometimes here what was left in the buffer. It’s odd – I’ve never experienced that with ANY other DAW.

Experienced the same here with Logic - but it's a quirk I get used to.. I sort it more or less as Ed says..by adding perhaps half a bar to the cycle range at the beginning of the 'bounce' (and always in realtime), pressing play then stop twice, that usually clears any unwanted artifacts for me..

I'm also experiencing hanging notes when step sequencing and using copy paste when making midi tracks even if I haven't played that track for once.
Using 0 key and playing a little bit usually stops the hanging notes but sometimes it just changes the note hanging.

I also notice it when not bouncing, but just playing.

It doesn’t bother me too much, it just seems such a simple “version 1” type error that shouldn’t be there!
